pillowfolks | Activity for your DW dashboard, the fannish edition

I know a lot of people who don't visit DW very often because they think it isn't active. Well, it isn't Twitter or Tumblr, but there's plenty going on! So I thought I would compile a list of active comms that can help fandom peeps put some life into their DW reading lists and keep them apprised of upcoming events.

Finding people & conversations:

A few of these are fandom-specific. Most aren't. This collection covers fandom events large and small, annual to weekly. All have been active within their last cycle (if they run annually then they were on time as of last year; if they run seasonally, monthly or weekly then they've been active in that timeframe). These are great not only if you like to participate, but if you like to have fannish creations deposited on your reading list in a timely manner!

dwrp_icons is also great for icons, and usually very well tagged. Additionally, for people in animanga fandom,

anime_manga is a lovely comm with regular episode discussions (and more!) over the last few months (we also do this on

bnha_fans for people watching the Boku no Hero Academia anime).

Bnha_fans is so good. I seldom comment because I'm usually running a few weeks behind on the manga and then I'll catch up in a single binge read, but I do love it.

Oh cool! I have recently paid for my account so I'm on the lookout for a whole load of new icons. And I might join genprompt_bingo too to see if I can get back into writing.

I really enjoy the prompt bingos. They go off pretty regularly and the format and prompts are so fun.

My account isn't paid just at the moment, but I do really enjoy the "Network" tab. It lets you see folks who are posting among the followers of your followers--great way to find new active people to follow!
