Today on the Twitter and Tumblr accounts, PF Staff has announced the reopening date for the site: April 29th.

Note for this reopening stage, new signups will once again be limited to invite codes. Previously generated codes will still be valid.

Staff also included this warning about loading times:

Nonetheless, we are anticipating the possibility of heavy traffic from users eagerly returning to our platform the day of our re-launch and the days after. This may result in some site slowness and intermittent downtime. We’ll keep everyone updated on our social media channels regarding site stability. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

PF Staff has not announced a more specific reopening date, but today they did announce a progress update on the security assessment. The projected reopening is still slated for April.

PF Staff announced today that you can now message them for a text backup copy of all your posts, either by email (info@pillowfort.social) or by using the contact form.

The latest word on reopening is still April 2021.

Staff has released updates today on the official PF Twitter and Tumblr accounts.

The main announcement is that Pillowfort will return in April and that the new security consultant has been hired.

They've also posted a Q&A about the status and future of the site. It answers questions about PF's downtime, the length of its time in beta, and its dependence on continued donations.

Today PF Staff announced that they're aiming to re-open the site by the end of March.

Here's an excerpt from the full announcement:
We are taking this time to do a thorough evaluation of the site and make improvements to the site’s security and permission checks from the top down. In spite of only a handful of issues being brought to our attention during our public launch last month, our developers want to conduct a thorough assessment of the entire site and develop a more in-depth suite of testing procedures. While it would not take long for our developers to fix the current known issues themselves, using the downtime to do systematic improvements will strengthen our platform in the long term and help prevent such issues from occurring again.

As of today, you can now visit individual posts, blogs, and communities on Pillowfort, so you have the opportunity to go and save anything that you've posted there.

Staff recommends that you clear your cache if you're still logged in. Instructions at the link.

If you don't, be advised: some of the interference usernames are still up, so if you're currently logged in, be careful. The homepage, followers page, mutuals page, communities page, block list, messages, notifications, settings, and other pages may be compromised. I recommended that you avoid clicking around at anything from the inside and instead simply look at the site externally, in a private/incognito tab.

First a bit of comm business:
The What do you want from this community poll is still open. I'll let it run for another day or so. We have over 25 members (already!) and less than half have voted, so if you've got opinions, feel free to make them known!

But so far, there's strong consensus in favor of:

  • "Connect with other Pillowforters"

  • "Updates/conversation about Pillowfort"

  • "Members can post things into the community"

  • "Conversation starter posts from the mod"

So let's get started with those discussion posts! Our first topic: What do you wish you could post on Pillowfort?

What's the most recent thing that had you thinking, "I should make a post about that?" Or the thing that's overpoweringly making your fingers twitch because you keep thinking about it and have nowhere to put it?

Tell us in the comments here--or heck, make your own community post about it!

(Fun fact: on DW, you can track comments for a post or comment thread! If there's a convo you'd like to follow, look along the bottom of the post or comment for the 'Track this' icon--it might look like a little bell--and click it to turn tracking on or off. If you add tracking for a comment, then you'll get notified of any comments made in the thread from that comment on down. You can find all your notification settings in Account Settings>Notifications, where you can turn them off at any time.)
